


Shaykh Nurjan MirAhmadi

Having achieved business success at a remarkably young age, As-Sayed Nurjan MirAhmadi retired from the private sector in the mid-1990s to pursue his religious studies and devoted himself to be of service to the needy. He combined his personal drive and financial talents to work for the less fortunate and founded an international relief organization, a spiritual healing center and a religious social group for at risk youth.
Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi has worked to spread the true Islamic teachings of love, acceptance, respect and peace throughout North America and the world. An expert on Islamic spirituality, he has studied with some of the world’s leading Islamic scholars and teachers. Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi became a protégé of Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani for in-depth studies in Islamic spirituality known as Sufism. Together with Shaykh Kabbani, he has established a number of Islamic educational organizations and relief programs throughout the world. As-Sayed Nurjan MirAhmadi was also a founding trustee for the Islamic Supreme Council of America, a world renowned institution of moderate, traditional Islam in North America.
Shanaaz MacKay
Director: Project Co-Ordinator
As an active member of the Naqshbandiyya Nazimmiya Tariqat Shanaaz aims to dedicate her service to the betterment of humanity and therefore her primary interests lie in the philanthropic arena. Her educational background includes a BA in Theatre Production as well as a Bachelors of Education degree from The University of British Columbia, Canada. Shanaaz has previously been involved in independent filmmaking, documenting the plight of at risk South African Youth. Most recently, Shanaaz has been actively involved in co-ordinating programs including clothing and canned food drives and monthly soup kitchens serving over 400 residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside; famously known as North Americas worst slum and home to the largest concentration of drug addicts on the continent. Her role in the foundation as director and project co-ordinator enables her to fulfill a greater sense of purpose by improving the livelihoods of the country's citizen’s and to ultimately break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
